Professional Bodies

We are proud to be one of a select number of members of the:

British Wood Preserving & Damp-Proofing Association

British Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing Association logo

The PCA is a trade organisation, which places great emphasis on standards of workmanship and ethics. Our membership of the PCA enables us to be accredited to the highest levels of workmanship and company procedures. The PCA publishes codes of practice, training evidence and standard specifications as well as information literature on all aspects of wood treatment and damp control.

The PCA has a close working relationship with statutory and regulatory bodies taking a responsible stance on environmental issues and is actively committed to raising standards of knowledge, quality and safety throughout the industry.

There are significant advantages to clients choosing to use a member of the PCA to undertake damp proofing and timber treatment works in their properties. These include the high standards of training and competence required before admission to membership, along with financial stability and protection of health, safety and the environment.

Choosing a member of the PCA takes the risk out of just instructing a company listed in the phone book and hoping for the best. You can be assured that when you instruct a PCA member company you will have a contractor accredited to the highest standards.

In the event of a dispute arising, the PCA operates a mediation and arbitration service, which has an excellent record of helping to settle any difficulties.

Members of the PCA are unique in being able to offer independent insurance backed guarantees through their links with the Guarantee Protection Trust.
